Vocaloid 4 for mac?

I do all my production on a macbook pro and I was wondering if there's a way to get Vocaloid 4 working outside of bootcamp / running it in a VM.

I have a windows PC which I use for gaming but I'm going to be travelling a lot and would much rather have all my production software on my macbook. Software free download torrent.

I noticed that the system specs of VY1v4 list OSX under the OS requirements, but the Vocaloid 4 editor is windows only. Does that mean I can just buy VY1v4 by itself without the editor and use it? Wikipedia lists OSX support for Vocaloid 4 but I'd like to get some confirmation that it actually works before I shell out $250.. Chasers of the light poetry book.
